Colour of latex balloons look different from the picture.

Latex balloon colour does not match colour in the picture.

Reasons Why Colours Look Different

  1. Images are not perfect. It's challenging to capture the colour of a fully inflated balloon due to it's reflective and often translucent surface.
  2. Lighting has a big impact on the observed colour of the inflated balloon. Outdoor vs indoor warm lighting vs indoor cool lighting vs flourecent lighting may all impact how we observe the colour of the balloons.  The lighting when the image of the balloon was taken may be quite different from the lighting you are presenting the balloons in.
  3. Balloons are uninflated.  For instance, a dark purple or navy blue balloon may look black when the balloon is not inflated.
  4. Balloons are underinflated.  If you are planning to underinflate your balloons on purpose (such as for balloon sculpting), keep in mind this will change and often darken the tone of the balloon.  The true colour of the balloon only shows when the balloon is fully inflated to its size.
  5. Balloons are of a different brand. Changing brands or using two brands at once may cause you to see obvious colour/tone difference.  Fuscia balloons in one brand may not appear exactly the same as Fuscia in another brand.
  6. Balloons are of a different finish. For instance, the same colour in different finishes will appear very different when invlated, such as a standard balloon with minimal transparency, a "crystal" or "diamond" balloon that is very transparent, a metallic balloon, neon balloon, and so on.  An orange in all 4 of those finishes will appear very different in colour.
